Bali is known for its laid back & aesthetic attractions. I love Bali for how affordable & beginner-friendly destination it is. Surprisingly, the beach isn’t the main attraction — but the temples, beach clubs & numerous outdoor activities you can do like ATV!
Top Unique Experiences in Bali:
- Beach Club – A resort-style venue (usually beach front) that provides wide range of amenities like the pool, DJs and beach bar! There’s an entrance fee (depending on the type of table you get) but it’s consumable within the day for food & drinks.
- ATV Experience – Probably one of the best I have ever tried! There are several routes (within the jungle & crossing rivers) depending on your extremity level. We chose to ride the jungle tour and was able to go thru a river making it a very muddy & fun ride!
- Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary – A park with wild monkeys everywhere! You can take a “selfie” with one of the monkeys if you’re brave enough!
- Value for Money – Hotels can go as cheap as PHP 500 per night with a pool right outside your room! Food is very affordable & tasty. Definitely value for money!
How to get around?
Public transport is not easy to navigate in Bali but luckily there’s Grab that can help you get around for short distance drive!
- Grab Car – Affordable rates & easy to book within the city. Note that traffic is pretty bad for the city center so I recommend Grab Bike instead
- Grab Bike – You can ride a motorbike to get around the city & will be faster because it can avoid traffic. Make sure to book a Grab Bike with a helmet because the rates are different for no helmet vs with helmet (PHP 7 difference lol). Inform your rider to be careful incase you’re not used to this mode of transportation
- Rent a Van (with a driver) – For bigger groups & farther destinations where Grab isn’t available. I’m not a fan of tours so I prefer this because you can create your own itinerary & give it to your driver.
- Book a Tour via Klook – For 1-2 people, it might be more cost efficient to just book a tour directly in Klook (Joiners).
Where to stay?
There are several areas you can stay in Bali depending on your activity (Seminyak, Ubud) but I recommend to book your hotel in 1 area and then just taking a Grab to other areas — it’s not as far as you imagine. I recommend staying at Ubud City Area because it’s very accessible & very lively at night. You can also avoid a lot of traffic if you stay within the City Center.
Sample Itinerary
Day 1: Beach Club
I recommend spending an entire day here to try all the amenities & finish the consumables. They will ask you to pick a table you want to use depending on the group size. The location of the table (e.g. with a table, near the beach or near the bar) will dictate how much you would need to spend for the day. Consumables are usually applicable for all food & drinks — so it’s much better to go as a group so you can finish the consumables hehe.
